How can we create a new start where Nordic collaboration again turns significant to us?

Mere om

The Covid-19-pandemic has uncovered old and new cultural, social and political borders in the Nordic region, previously seen as a beacon of co-operation, collaboration and stable governance. Distrust, division and disinformation threaten political, societal and cultural cohesion. How did these fault lines emerge during the pandemic both within and between Nordic countries and how can we counter them? By dissecting the overlapping dynamics of distrust, division and disinformation propelled by conspiracy beliefs, our panel will address how to meet and to respond to similar future challenges across Nordic space. Hence, we aim to explore the toxic processes of a new Nordic disintegration, and map possible routes for future Nordic re-integration. A key issue to consider is that in the face of crisis, national borders fail to deliver security, certainty and most importantly hope. Can we build our new Nordic normal? What are the narratives that unite us?
