Global pullback on development aid – can Denmark’s new strategy offer a new direction?
Mere om
Development aid is facing mounting pressure. Massive cuts across Europe, and Trump’s move to shut down USAID, signal a shifting global landscape. At the same time, development cooperation remains a key tool to support democracy, human rights, and stability in fragile regions. In this debate, we ask: What role should development aid play in an increasingly uncertain world? Can we afford to maintain global solidarity in times of crisis – or can we afford not to? And what does a future-proof development policy look like?
