Hear how Ireland and Spain are challenging settlement trade, and why Denmark should do the same.

Mere om

Across Europe, pressure is growing to stop trade that helps sustain Israel’s illegal settlements.  So why is Denmark still dragging its feet?   Spain has taken concrete steps to stop support for illegal Israeli settlements, including measures stopping settlement goods from entering the country and restricting travel platforms from advertising rentals in settlements. Ireland has also broken new ground with legislation to ban trade with settlements, despite intimidation and pressure from the US and powerful business interests.   At this event, speakers from Oxfam Spain and Oxfam Ireland will share what is happening in their countries and what Denmark can learn from it.   Karsten Hønge from SF will join the discussion to explain why Denmark needs a national ban on settlement trade, building on the proposal put forward by his party. Join us for a debate on what Europe is doing, why Denmark is falling behind, and what it will take to change course.
