The Farm Animals We Never See: Stories from a Sanctuary

Most of us have never truly met a farm animal. We have seen the packaging, the labels, and the pictures of sunny fields, but rarely the individual behind it all. Rarely the one with a name. In this session, two volunteers from Dyrenes Frie Farm take the stage: a teacher and a former worker from the animal industry. Their journeys are very different, but both led them to the same place. The animals at our sanctuary on Fyn are ambassadors. They are the lucky few who got away, and their stories speak for the millions still kept behind closed doors. Come and meet Otto the pig, who sleeps in a child’s bed, and hear the story behind it. Hear about a rooster who mourned for a year before finding love again. And meet Hilde, Denmark’s only rescued dairy cow living in a sanctuary, who gave birth to Ferdinand, a son she actually got to keep. You do not need to know anything about farm animals. You just need to be curious. Come hear their stories from this nonprofit sanctuary.
